Tsiki born and bred in Orlando East Soweto.
I was given tsiki as a nickname whilst I was a soccer player in primary and since then that’s the name I am affectionally known as till to date. Music has always been a part of me from a young but got to be more passionate in the late 90’s.
I became more attracted to house and used to listen to Dj’s like Monde, Iggy Small’s, etc who were at the time very popular.
In 1999, I started playing at small parties with a computer and was spotted and groomed by DJ tebza who lives a couple of houses away from mine.
In 2001 I started playing for bigger crowds and gained more experience and confidence and thereafter I never looked back.
In 2003, I then met Nkhalisto and Mat tonik in high school, we were classmates and that’s were a long term friendship began. Our bond was strengthened by the love of music and we grew together on the music platform and shared a lot of experiences and created memories.
I got residency at kayalethu restaurant from 2007 to 2010 were I was playing variety of music for different type of patrons. At the time I was also under Spinout production which was founded in 2005. During the time I got an opportunity to play also at a variety of venues like the OZ pub, news cafe and capello to name a few and also got to play alongside some well known and established spinners.
I play a variety of music depending on the occasion and crowd, I’m a soul/vocal lover and I invest my emotions on my set to take the crowd on a musical journey, and to be chilled and get conversations going while indulging to the soulful sounds of my tunes, I’m Tsiki and they call me the soul man.
